Swimming with Disabilities
|
Our AUSTSWIM- and ASCTA-qualified swimming instructors for people with disabilities follow the Halliwick Principles which are aimed at increasing independence and confidence in the water.
Starting with water familiarization and safety, they move through skills such as breath control, rotation and mobility, to strokes tailor-made to each individual.
Some of our students go on to compete in events arranged by organizations such as the Singapore Disability Sports Council.
Our small groups (maximum of three) usually involve caretakers being in the water (although not always).
Certificates of achievement are issued every six months. |
