If your child already knows how to swim, this is an enjoyable way
to keep him or her motivated and fit. Our individual-centered squad
focuses on stroke correction and technique, endurance and personal
improvement. AUSTSWIM- and ASCTA-qualified instructors stress fun, safety
and teamwork as well as the competitive aspects of squad training.
Squad members have the opportunity to compete in regular in-house Marsden
Swim Squad meets, as well as international events including the All Nations
Cup. Competitive open water swims are also trained for. Some of our squad
swimmers were lucky enough to see Michael Phelps and the US Olympic Swim
Team (see October-December 2008 newsletter) as well as the Danish Olympic Swim Team train in
Singapore en route to the Beijing Olympics 2008.
Hour-long sessions are conducted at the 50-metre pool at Queenstown Swimming Complex (off Queensway) on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and at the Australian International School on Sunday mornings.
